FAIRTIQ

If you don’t have the FAIRTIQ app yet, download it from the App Store or Google Play. The app works on a phone with a minimum Android 12.4 or iOS 7.0 system equipped with a SIM card.

To benefit from the post payment service, simply:
• Have a smartphone; make sure it has enough battery for the trip;
• Allow access of the application to geolocation;
• Open an account on the application and specify your payment method for the withdrawal at the end of the day;
• Travel on a service-enabled network.

You travel freely and pay at the end of your journey. No need to enter your starting point or destination, the Fairtiq app determines your trip by geotagging your location even if you make a match: one click at the start, the second at the end of your trip; it’s as simple as that!

Trips are counted and billed at the end of each day and are capped based on the day titles of each network. As you travel, the application adapts the amount of your invoices to make you benefit from the most interesting rate under the tariff agreements between networks.

Before the trip

The networks included in the scope of validity are:

The regular lines of the LiA network of Le Havre Seine Métropole: tram and bus.
The regular lines of the Twisto network of Caen La Mer: tram, bus, school lines of the complementary network, shuttle to the city center, Noctibus.
The two Nomad Car lines no. 111 (CAEN <> CABOURG <> DEAUVILLE <> HONFLEUR <> LE HAVRE) and no. 122 Express (CAEN <> HONFLEUR <> LE HAVRE)
The sections strictly included in Normandy regular connections Nomad Train, except on the ABANCOURT <> LE TREPORT axis.

The stations at the limits of the validity scope are: ALENCON, BUEIL, GOURNAY-FERRIERES, NONANCOURT, PONTORSON-MONT-SAINT-MICHEL, SERQUEUX, VERNON-GIVERNY.
The sections strictly included in Normandy regular connections by car SNCF TER.

Make sure to start your trip before boarding public transport! Once your journey has started, you can travel anywhere in the Area of validity of FAIRTIQ

A network connection is essential to check-in; go back to the surface if you are underground!

If you still cannot check in, you are outside the FAIRTIQ validity scope. Please consult our map to find the area of validity of the service.

During the trip

The condition to use the FAIRTIQ application is to have a smartphone in working order for the duration of the journey (internet connection available and access to the location as well as sufficient battery). In the event of a temporary interruption (crossing a white zone), FAIRTIQ will remain active. Do not interrupt your journey: the application is designed to reconstitute it, even if geolocation is temporarily unavailable. In case of error, contact us at this link

If you make a connection between two Atoumod lines in the covered territory, you do not need to stop the FAIRTIQ application: it will recognize that you have changed line and will calculate the optimal rate. For longer stopovers (more than 30 minutes), it is recommended to end the journey in the app temporarily. When you resume your trip, you just have to start the trip again in the app; this has no influence on the calculation of the price that will be charged and deducted.

If you leave the area of validity of FAIRTIQ during your journey, you no longer have a valid ticket and you risk a fine. To know more about the area of validity, refer to the area of validity-Normandy

Just click on “Display Ticket”. Your e-ticket will be displayed on the screen. Remember that the ticket is personal. Therefore, you might be asked to present an ID-Card.

After the trip

As soon as you have arrived at your destination and exited the vehicle, you are required to end the trip by sliding the “STOP” button from right to left.

Billing

The credit is added to your current bill; it will be used to offset past and future trips. If, at the end of the month, the total amount of the invoice is in your favor, the remaining amount will automatically be paid on your payment method.

If the price charged seems wrong, please report the trip in question directly on the application via the button «Report a problem with this trip», or contact the after-sales serviceat the following link. Describe the problem and where you started and finished your journey.

The titles configured in the FAIRTIQ application are:

For the Twisto network (Caen): 1-hour ticket, 24-hour ticket
For LiA (Le Havre) network: 1 hour title, day title
For Nomad Car: regular line unit ticket, express line unit ticket
For Nomad Train (and SNCF TER Cars): Tempo ticket, Tempo ticket young -26 years.

In addition, certain tariff rules and benefits have been set up in FAIRTIQ:

The integration of the CAEN <> BRETTEVILLE-NORREY rail segment into the Twisto tariff (the tariff applied is that of the Twisto titles).
The integration of the tariff for the LE HAVRE <> ROLLEVILLE (Lézard’Express) rail link, with a LiA tariff (the tariff applied is that of the LiA titles).
For a journey starting or ending in CAEN, if the user takes a Nomad coach, he benefits from a free 1 hour Twisto ticket (valid for journeys on the Twisto network within 60 minutes before or after the Nomad Car trip).

In the FAIRTIQ application, two prices appear for each trip:

      • The standard price, that is to say the normal price of the journey undertaken,
      • The price charged, that is, the price that you are actually charged.

Thanks to the price optimization function, FAIRTIQ automatically charges the best price, without you having to ask yourself what is the right ticket for your trips.

For your first trip of the day, FAIRTIQ sells you a standard ticket (for example LiA ticket 1 hour for a trip on the LiA network). If other trips are undertaken in the same day, FAIRTIQ will either sell you an additional ticket, or replace the ticket charged for the first trip with a new ticket that covers all trips (eg LiA day ticket). FAIRTIQ can convert single tickets to longer validity tickets.

Trips are not charged separately from each other to ensure the best rate. The application invoices trips at a later date, either when a certain amount is reached, otherwise at the end of the month.

With each trip made, once completed, the application presents a temporary price on the summary of the trip, then the trip appears on your current invoice. At this point, no amount has been debited from your payment method. The current invoice is debited later, when it reaches a certain amount, or at the latest at the end of the month. You can easily control your expenses at any time, either by consulting your emails or directly from the application.

Once you have exited the vehicle and ended your journey, the app will map the journey and determine the corresponding price. Beyond one hour on a network, you are charged a new title. For each network travelled, the price is capped at that of the day title. Once the price is calculated and displayed, you can start a new journey.

You will only be charged if the FAIRTIQ algorithm identifies that you have made a journey by means of transport. You can check in, walk and then check out: you will not be charged!

In the train

In Normandy, FAIRTIQ does not take into account the travel price for pets. Find the information to travel with your pet on the TER Normandie website

In Normandy, FAIRTIQ only allows travel in 2nd class. The offender would be in a situation of fraud and would be exposed to a fine.

FAIRTIQ allows you to travel in good standing without planning your ticket purchase in advance, and therefore does not offer the possibility of seat reservation.  The application allows you to travel on board trains with reservation throughout the entire validity scope, without seat guarantee.

If it is possible to travel freely with one’s bicycle on the Krono, Citi and Proxi trains without reservation, the acceptance of the bicycle is subject to the assessment of the staff member according to the number of passengers and the rolling stock. Find all the information to travel with your bike on site TER Normandy.

Companion mode allows two people to travel with the same FAIRTIQ account and smartphone. Warning: both users must travel the same route! However, they may have a different profile (for example, an adult and a child). At the check, you will need to present both tickets and two proof of identity.

GDPR

It should be noted that FAIRTIQ uses only the data essential for the correct reconstruction of journeys and the detection of cases of fraud, in compliance with the GDPR. More information at this link

The app exclusively collects and processes data relating to the application and the purchase of electronic tickets and complies
the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The data transmitted by the telephone is used to determine and charge the trips made as well as to remind the user to complete his trip if necessary.

The data analyses carried out as part of the improvement of the app only use anonymized data.
